Introduction
What is Arduino?
Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on simple software and hardware. It was first introduced in 2005 by Massimo Banzi and a team of students at the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea in Italy (IDII).
The initial Arduino core team consisted of Massimo Banzi, David Cuartielles, Tom Igoe, Gianluca Martino, and David Mellis. They wanted to create a low-cost, easy-to-use tool for artists and designers to create interactive projects. The first widely distributed Arduino board, the Arduino Diecimila, was based on the Atmel ATmega168 microcontroller and released in 2007.
Since then, Arduino has become a popular choice for DIY electronics projects and is used in a wide range of applications such as robotics, 3D printing, and internet of things (IoT) devices. Arduino boards have been continually updated and improved, with new models featuring different microcontrollers, additional inputs and outputs, and other features.
Today, Arduino boards and software are used by a wide range of people, from hobbyists and students to professional engineers and researchers.
